Should You Ride the VelociCoaster Again?
Universal Studios is one of the best theme parks in the world. It's packed with exciting rides and shows, but that doesn't mean that all of them are worth your time. If you're only planning to spend a day or two at Universal Studios, then you don't want to waste hours in line for a lame ride. Here are 10 Universal Studios attractions not worth waiting in line for and 10 that are.
1. Fast & Furious: Supercharged
This motion-simulator doesn't capture the fun of the iconic action franchise. It's on the bland side and somewhat derivative. The lack of detail means you should skip it even if the line is short.

2. Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
Designed as a high-energy simulator through New York City, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, you're better off riding the NYC subway during rush hour than waiting in line for this poorly conceived ride.
3. The Simpsons Ride
This 4.5-minute motion simulator replaced the popular Back to the Future ride around 2008. It's fun for fans of the series and nostalgic, but many find it underwhelming as a ride. It's not worth waiting in the queue for even an hour or so.

4. E.T. Adventure
The E.T. ride at Universal Studios has had its detractors since its debut. The concept of a dark ride through a moonlit forest and then into E.T.'s world sounds promising. However, the animatronics are dated, and the pace is slow.

Universal Studios' tour is a tram ride through the backlot, and it's been around since the 1960s. The tour takes 40 to 60 minutes, but the long line doesn't justify the experience. Only the most ardent Hollywood fans will find some enjoyment on this tour, whereas others will be underwhelmed.

6. WaterWorld
An impressive and long-running stunt show, WaterWorld has all the pyrotechnics you could ask for. The question is, do you go to Universal Studios to see a show? Probably not, which makes the popularity of this show inexplicable. The stunts are cool but predictable, and it loses steam after a few minutes.
7. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
The Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is a 3D simulator for kids. It's bright, colorful, and kids might get a kick out of it. The downside is it's sensory overload, and older kids might be as bored as adults.
8. Revenge of the Mummy
Revenge of the Mummy is about as successful as some of The Mummy sequels. It's a fairly basic forward and backward roller coaster with dated effects. This might be the worst ride in the theme park.

9. Secret Life of Pets - Off the Leash!
A slightly charming narrative doesn't keep this ride from being a big letdown after a long wait in line. This ride lacks any thrilling element, even for young kids, and the payoff is nonexistent.
10. Flight of the Hippogriff
Flight of the Hippogriff is a family-friendly roller coaster that opened in 2016. It has an adorable quality for kids, but the appeal to kids also results in long lines. There are more substantial and memorable family rides on the park grounds.
1. Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventures
This coaster in The Wizarding World opened in 2019 and has been a popular attraction ever since. There are seven launches, a motorbike sidecar format, and it even features Rowling's storytelling depth and vibe. The lines are long, but the experience is worth it.
2. Jurassic World VelociCoaster
The Velocicoaster reaches 70 mph and consistently ranks as one of the most thrilling experiences at Universal Studios. The long lines are boring, but once you start the ride, you'll feel a level of excitement that will make you want to line up again.
3. Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
Lines for this ride have been long since it opened in 2014. That is partly due to the popularity of Harry Potter, and partly due to how fun and amazing it is. A blend of 3D effects, motion, and immersive themes, hop in line for this ride without worrying how long you'll be waiting there.
4. The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
This ride has been a signature attraction of Universal Studios since 1999. Fans love the combination of tactile effects and 3D visuals, and this ride delivers an engaging storyline for all to enjoy.
5. Transformers: The Ride 3D
This Transformers-themed ride is a visceral experience that propels guests into the middle of an action-packed fight for the AllSpark. You'll enjoy impressive visuals and a lot of intense moments.
6. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
This ride takes you through some of the most beloved settings from the iconic book series, and then ends in an intense motion-based finale. Sure, there are very long lines, but this ride is worth the wait for Harry Potter fans.
7. Hogwarts Express
Start at King's Cross Station and then board a train for a magical and engrossing ride. The queue is long, but even that is an enchanting experience that heightens the value of the ride.

8. Skull Island: Reign of Kong
This ride isn't exactly a classic, but it's a blast. It's atmospheric and introduces guests to an animatronic shaman. The emphasis on building the story makes the ride even better, and the line worthwhile.
9. Men in Black: Alien Attack
As a spin-and-shoot shooter, the Men in Black ride offers something different than other attractions. Guests will endure simulated destruction and elaborate props.
10. The Incredible Hulk Coaster
This high-speed roller coaster is ideal for thrill-seekers. In 2016, it was refurbished with new trains, track, and effects. If you're looking for a high-speed ride, The Hulk Coaster shoots riders from 0 to 40 mph in roughly two seconds.
